I’m a Certified Cake Designer and I graduated from the Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts in Toronto. But really, I’ve always been a foodie at heart, with an undeniable sweet tooth and a passion for creating edible art out of a few basic ingredients.
When I was just a little girl, I remember baking up a storm with my grandma and being wrist-deep in flour. We made a whole lot of koulouraki butter cookies together back then, and in no time, I was baking a cake every week at school.
I first started Sugar Linings as a way to stir together my love of sweets with my artistic soul, and spread joy to everyone around me in the process. Because the way I see it, desserts should be beautiful to look at…and delicious to devour. A full sensory explosion.
I find inspiration for my cake decorations in everything from architecture to paintings to fashion. I love dark chocolate and royal icing. And if you asked me what my favourite pastry shop was, I’d have to say La Patisserie Des Reves in Paris. (When you walk in, you feel like you’re browsing through a museum of pastries, where every dessert is a delicious piece of art!)
