Hi all, my name is Audrey Dobber. I started Sophie's Bakery soon after I baked my first cake.
It was November 2014 and I was searching for my baby girls first birthday cake. Not really knowing were to look, I couldn't find the perfect cake. "Why don't you make her cake yourself." family and friends said. Indeed, why not. I had never baked a sponge cake before, so I checked out some YouTube tutorials and baked her first birthday cake, 3 layers, covered with pink fondant and decorated it with a lot of flowers and butterflies. I enjoyed this so much. Soon I was baking cakes, cupcakes and cookies for family, friends, neighbours etc.
In January 2015 I started Sophie's Bakery, named after my little girl, and now I am baking also for customers. I still have a lot to learn, but with google as my best friend, my baking and decorating books, some workshops and all the information I can find from other bakers and decorators, I am getting where I would like to be. A good cake decorator who loves her job.
You do great work! It’s so cool that you opened your own bakery. It’s always been a dream of mine to do the same…maybe some day..if I’m not to old by then lol. I’m going to follow you so I can watch you grow. I can tell you’re going to be very successful.
