I've been decorating cakes since I was 10. I swapped hobbies with a lady when I was 10. I taught her to crochet and she taught me to decorate. Wish I could find her to say thank you. My lessons stopped when I had to move. I never got to learn the rose, so I used the Wilton year book that my grandmother bought me. It had a tutorial inside and I kept at it. I'm mostly self taught. I read books and played with icing until I got my desired effect. My first class was when I turned 26. Once I discovered fondant and gumpaste, it opened up a whole new world for me. I love to decorate "outside the box". I love to try to make something that no one else has seen. But, I also love to make flowers. I want to take some classes on sculpting people and faces. Just looking at some of the talent in this group, I know I've found some really good inspiration. Thanks to all who share their passion.
