Hi, my name is Maikko. I am 30 years old. I am a self-taught cake maker/artist. Ive been doing it on and off for two years now. The reason its on and off is because I have a fulltime job and I only do it for birthdays and weddings of friends and family members!
I started out making just a regular Chocolate Cake, from then on I decided to take it up a notch and use chocolate ganache, I even tried working with modelling chocolate but I guess the temperature and humidity here is not really suitable for modelling chocolate. After a couple of trials using different kinds of fondant I am in love with the marshmallow fondant recipe that I am currently because it's really great, it doesn't tear.
A year wiser and I am thankful especially from communities like this which are very helpful to newbies or hobby cake decorators like me who wants to be make it big someday in the cake world and turn it into a business someday.
At the moment I am able to sell a few cakes to friends and family members and practicing new techniques as much as I can!
