Hello and welcome to Bodissima Wedding Cakes! I'm Lisa the Cake Designer and it's my aim to create a beautiful and delicious cake which is perfect for your special day. I've always loved baking for family and friends. Until I started my business, my cakes had never been more to me than a joyful hobby; to be made occasionally when the demands of work and family life permitted. I'm self taught in the main, and as my baking and decorating skills improved, I found that more and more people began asking me to bake cakes for their parties and celebrations. I then made a three tier cake and a seven tier tower of cupcakes for a 70th Birthday which I attended. Many of the guests complimented me on my cakes that night and several asked me if this was my professional business. When I told them that it wasn't, they said that it should be! My first wedding cake order was made very shortly afterwards. Many cakes later, I decided to focus on bespoke wedding cakes and Bodissima was born! "Bodissima" is a Spanish word which, roughly translated, means 'very weddingy'. As I spent some years in Spain, speak fluent Spanish and have a passion for the country, it seemed quite apt! All my wedding cake designs are bespoke. Take a look at my galleries for inspiration! All my designs can be made in any shapes or colours incorporating your own ideas and any theme you may have. The possibilities are endless! I work with fondant/sugarpaste, royal icing, buttercream, chocolate and even marshmallow fluff! All my cakes are made to order in my own kitchen. I don't freeze my cakes, buy in ready made cakes from large bakeries, or contract out any of my cake baking or decorating. I can either design something new or you can choose something from my existing portfolio. Whilst I specialise in wedding cakes, I will take commissions for engagement, anniversary and christening cakes. I can also cater for special dietary requirements, such as gluten free, egg free, dairy free, etc.

Based in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, I cover all of the North East including North and South Tyneside, Sunderland, Washington, Durham and the surrounding areas, Northumberland and Teesside. For other areas please contact me for a quote. I offer a free personal consultation to discuss your ideas and to help you to design and create your special cake. Your consultation can be booked at a time to suit you. I will visit you in your home or an alternative venue of your choice, where you can view my designs, browse my portfolio and taste samples of my cake flavours at your leisure. I provide a complimentary set up and venue delivery service for all my brides.
