Hi there, my name is Tasha and I am relatively new to the cake decorating world.

I have always had a passion for all things artistic, particularly sculpting and painting which I studied at college. I went on to gain a degree in Modelmaking, using my new knowledge to work in the film, tv and theatre industry.

Although I enjoyed doing this as a profession, it wasn’t what I had always wished from a career. A job that I can wake to and be excited for the day ahead. I also found it difficult that you rarely ever completed a project from start to finish which is one of the most rewarding things about cake decorating. From design to delivery.

I have always enjoyed baking, testing new flavour combinations and trying to find the infamous absolutely perfect version of a recipe, but it wasn’t until last year, that I started making and decorating cakes and cupcakes for friends and family.

When I decided this was the job of my dreams, some people found the change of career a little random, but there are a large amount of similarities. In university, I loved the process of researching, designing and making, then the final calm after the deadline panic. Great feeling!

There are also a range of Modelmaking techniques that I have found cross over into cake decorating – Mould making, internal structures, painting and sculpting to name a few.

I now officially have the decorating and baking bug and am excited for what the future holds in this amazing profession.
