Interview #23: Viorica Dinu
My name is Viorica Dinu. I live in Bucharest Romania. I studied fine arts institute. I love the beauty, the perfection of things done. Three years ago I started making cakes as a hobby, and now together with my daughter Alexandra Florescu, the hobby turned into a family business running our cake studio specialized in events cakes.
How did you first get started with cake decorating?
It started as a hobby, three years ago and in short while it developed. Now it became a family business, working together with my daughter Alexandra Florescu.
What has been your greatest challenge?
I cannot say which was the greatest challenge of all. Each new theme is a challenge itself.
What is the most rewarding part of cake decorating?
The most rewarding part of cake decorating is when I see the joy in the eyes of children, none of the less when they discover a beautiful cake and every detail of it.
Could you give some tips to people who have just started decorating cakes or would love to start?
I think you have to work with passion and devotion, and to put quality fist, to think first at the reward of the things well done rather than the material aspects.
How did you find CakesDecor.com and what is it that keeps you coming back?
I discovered CakesDecor.com on Facebook. Each day I see new marvelous cakes which enchant my sight and my soul.
Do you have any rituals or habits while you’re working on cakes?
First of all I draw a sketch, I make some research and after that having the image of the cake in my mind I start decorating.
Do you Bake…Do you like to bake?
I like baking, this is the way I started. Now, because time is limited I work exclusively on decorating cakes.
Which one of your cakes is your favorite?
I love all my cakes, it’s a big joy working on each of them, but christening cakes with toys are those I like the most.
What’s been the biggest surprise in all of this for you?.
The biggest surprise for me it was the international recognition of my work. I was invited to teach in Germany in May this year.
