I was modelling, entirely free hand this FIAT 500, made of cereal treat inside and fondant outside, when Verusca Walker posted her fantastic F1 car…I feel a bit like a FIAT500 compared to the amazing high level of quality some of you are producing, I am always fascinated by what hands, mind and a good pinch of heart can create. Anyway, this is another story…I made this cake for the father of a very good friend of mine who turned 85 at the beginning of this month. In his life he also worked on ship cruises, he lived abroad for years, in Canada too but then came back on his belaved Lake Como. For decades he has been driving a navy blue FIAT500, up and down our steep mountain roads, always wearing his big black sun glasses. As his car in now on sale, becuase it is not safe anylonger for him to drive, I reproduced his beloved car, and on the car plate I wrote his name and the day of his birth. I put the car on a sort of boat, emblem of his work and of his travelling around the world. Thank you for taking your time to read and look!
