Brooch cake

Cake by Nancys Fancys Cakes & Catering (Nancy Goolsby) posted 115 days ago 168 views 2 times favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites

This is a popular design, and I posted 2 photo’s of the same design, but 2 different weddings.
4-tier round cakes in first cake will be the design I will describe. Size tiers (6-8-10-14).
Cake is frosted in all smoother buttercream icing.
for the base of the 2nd & 4th tiers, i put a 1/4- 1/2 inch polyester or satin ribbon.
then i piped on buttercream cornelius lace from ribbon to top edge of cake where it meets the next tier.
AFter stacking the cake together with supports and dowel rods, I put 2-3-inch ribbon around top and 3rd tier and place bows i made ahead positioning as in photo, and opened brooch pin from back, and placed thru top part of bow knot piercing downwards into ribbon and cake to hold bow in place and for decor.
Any cake topper of yours or the brides preference can be used~
I hope you enjoy this classic cake design! :)
