Hand-painted 'artwork' on cake

NOW this cake definitely took me onto a whole different creative level!
This chocolate mud cake was for my brother’s girlfriend, Amy, who is a massive admirer of the artworks of Japanese artist, Audrey Kawasaki (renown for her distinctive oil-paintings, painted directly onto wood panels).
When I started researching Audrey’s work on the interweb, I found it really hard to choose ONE image that I could work from.. Audrey’s lines were so clean, detailed and mesmerising. Just beautiful!
I don’t claim to have the most steadiest hand when it comes to painting (painting was seriously never my thang in year 10 art class), but I’m quite happy with the way this turned out, esp. with the nose! haha.

(And just in case it’s not blatantly already obvious, the image on the right belongs to Audrey!)
