My inspiration for this cake was the lovely tulle sleeved tea-length gown with organza paneling, featuring woodland embroidery from the Disney fairytale-inspired collection for Spring / Summer 2018 by the Australian couture label Paolo Sebastian. I chose this dress because I wanted to recreate the embroidered flowers and leaves on the dress in brush embroidery which is one of my favourite cake decorating techniques. I first created the design using gumpaste cutouts for the flowers and leaves which were then brush embroidered using royal icing.
