This was an amazing cake for us to make because of the story behind it. One of our clients called us the other day and told us that her sister, Karen, had a birthday coming up and how she adores anything and everything Egypt! She also told us that she has Stage 4 Lymphoma and that this birthday would most likely be her last, so she wanted to make it very special for her! She thought it fitting that she have an edible replica of King Tut. We were definitely up for the challenge and wanted to make a cake that would knock her socks off!

Well it did! They said Karen just stared and stared at our cake and had a smile from ear to ear. She was dressed as Cleopatra and sat on a throne that was made specially for her and was fanned by two good looking men in Egyptian garb. ;) The party was a smash and she had a ball! Everything you see is hand sculpted out of fondant/gumpaste and completely edible! We were extremely honored to be a part of Karen’s special day and we wish her good health and happiness! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN!!

A very touching story and relate to it totally, I’ve made my last cake a few months ago, for a very close friend whose lost her battle with cancer and has not long to go sadly. I’ve been sitting with her all day today. Xx
This is absolutely fantastic, no wonder she was staring and staring.. A labour of love…. Thanks so much for sharing and your story. Thought are with Karen xx
