Floral 40th

Floral 40th

my son asked me to do a really simple rustic cake for his lovely wife. As she is half Hebrew, I made this depicting the national flower of Israel (Anemone) and berries to represent UK as we go into berry season. The almond nut, shell and blossom I added as Israel is well known for their pralines and almond orchards. The cake is a rich, fruit-infused carrot cake and rustic butter creamed outer in whipped orange buttercream. It disappeared pretty fast!!! Hahaha

Florals were done in cold porcelain as I travelled with this cake on a train and was worried about breakage if I did them in sugar. The berries were glazed in edible confectioners glaze as they touched the cake here and there.
