This was my entry for the Painted Easter Cake collaboration. I did a Ukranian easter egg or a “Pysanka”. I decided to go with the traditional bolder colors used in the painting of these eggs. Black is a sacred color, red represents love, joy, the hope of marriage, yellow symbolizes the moon and the stars, green the color of new life/spring and white is birth/light. I used cocoa butter paints to give it that batiking look, as they use a lot of wax to decorate their eggs.
