This was a cake created for the 29th Squire Kitchen Exhibition.

The clouds and leaves are wafer paper printed from images of the same I found on copyright free images.

The birds are Twites and were made using the wonderful 3D Bird mould by FPC Sugarcraft. I dusted them to the basic shades, then painted their markings before dusting again.

The base double height tier was painted using sugarflair paste colours.

I haven’t painted since school, so this was both terrifying and loads of fun at the same time.

Oh my word! So many amazing cakes in the same place at once!

Oh so you made those gorgeous little birds!!! Love them so much!! I photographed them and showed them in my little thread about Squires. Now I can update and credit you with having made them (of course your painting is amazing too but the birds really steal it for me) :-D
