Día de Muertos Sugar Skull

Día de Muertos Sugar Skull

I feel so honoured to have been asked to be a part of this incredible collaboration!! Bakers from around the world have been working together to create their own piece to celebrate Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) a Mexican holiday which brings friends and family together to pray and remember those who have died.

Although Día de Muertos is usually a colourful festival, I chose to give my piece a dark, almost Gothic style to represent two things, the first element is the black hair which represents formality and respect, and the second feature are the Red Roses to symbolise the love we still have for those we have lost…

I hope you like it :)
