I actually made this cake for a contest entry for a different site, but I did not win, so I entered it into our local cake show and received a blue ribbon! YAY! It is covered in fondant and hand painted using petal dusts that were thinned down with Vodka. The wooden pilings were made from a base of RKT and then covered with fondant. I then veined the wood grain into the fondant and painted them with a mixture of food color paste and Vodka. The ropes were made from gum paste. The shells were molded using candy molds, the textured using petal dust and pearl luster dust.
