"Backpackers delight"

"Backpackers delight"

Cake for a friend who’s lovely daughter is turning 21 and going overseas backpacking.
The map and luggage concept was requested by Molly’s mum… and after lots of searching, I finally found the original image inspiration, that she provided.
My version is quite different, but if you would like to see the original idea, it can be found on the following website: Bombolone finomságok

stunning! Love the design so much!

Think cake, think pink!

This is gorgeous Julez! Did you cut the continents out with an xacto knife? They look so perfect! Love the luggage, and how you wrote Molly’s name!

Toni, I used a scalpel… and the method of using baking paper lightly smeared with Crisco (Solite in Oz), to hold it in position, to transfer the cut-out to the cake.

WOnderful idea. Lovely design . I never attempted to cut such precise details . Seems very scary to me lol. Well done girl :-) What is the alphabet cutter that you used? Never seen such font before ?! Very pretty .

Hi Bistra… Normally I would have piped the name. I did purchase some tappits for this, but changed my mind. Eventually, I printed the font from my computer, then used an extruder (have seen people use this method for the Disney letters). Then transferred to the cake. A bit fiddly, but I liked the end result.
