Pleated Chocolate Fondant with Ribbon Roses

This is a chocolate mayonnaise cake that I made for a cake drawing giveaway cake for April. I had never done pleating on a cake before and I hadn’t made chocolate fondant before either, so those were two firsts for me. I didn’t care for the fact that the cake looked like it was covered in Tootsie Roll candies, so I airbrushed the chocolate fondant with bronze airbrush color. I’ve been doing cake giveaway drawings since February of this year so that I can have an excuse to try out new things and different techniques, and it’s not me and my husband that keeps eating cake all the time. So far, I have gotten a lot of positive response and feedback from those who are close to me in my neck of the woods. It’s been a lot of fun.
