Joint 40th and 70th Birthday cake, with Bassett Hound

The brief for this cake was red and purple cake for two women, a mother and daughter, both with landmark birthdays in the same week. One was turning 40, the other 70. The only other specification was that there had to be a bassett hound on the cake since both women owned bassett hounds. The cake is a quadruple layered chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream filling and the bow, roses and hound are made from modelling paste. Then the whole thing is highlighted with diamante cake picks for both lady’s ages.
