I created this cake for my brother’s wedding. It was transported by a 10 hour drive from Michigan USA to Ottawa, Canada without a hitch. The most tense moments were the last few as we entered the hotel underground parking garage and the downramp was the steepest gradient possible. I had packed the cake for every possible force and this one tested it. The individual cakes themselves were a variety of flavors – chocolate, white and cherry. The fondant was cherry flavored. The lace pieces on the cakes themselves were piped royal icing (the lace on the cake boards was actual lace). The idea for the cake was based off an earlier simple one layer Valentine’s cake (also attached).
