I have been making cakes for over 22 years now, started as a home hobby baker. Have was over 23 awards for my cakes, including Master class and Best in class. Am now one of the judges at Cake International, Birmingham, and this year will be my 12th year of judging. I am also teacher trained, and have been teaching for over 10 years. My love and passion is for sculpted cakes and novelty. I do also love working with chocolate too. In May 2013, I made two cakes of a sleeping puppy, named Dimples the Dalmation. One of them was for a cancer charity raffle and the other for a competition on my facebook page. T C Cakes Goodie Box. I shared the picture on the Renshaws Baking page, and to my amazement the cake went viral on the internet. My business really took off to my surprise. Since then my handmade sweets and truffles also became very popular and we sent out lots of "goodie boxes". Demand was so high, that in November 2013 I decided to take the plunge and open a shop selling cake equipment/supplies, carry on with my cake making and also selling my handmade sweets and truffles. At the same time as moving into the shop in November, Renshaws approached me and asked me to create a life like roast turkey Christmas dinner. And then again in March a life size spring lamb. Both were used as publicity for their products. The Turkey which was named Henrietta appeared on Channel 4 Sunday brunch.
