Sandra, our cake club is doing a series of round robin classes in August and they asked me to do a gumpaste flower. I tried to think of something that was fairly simple, dried quickly and didn’t require petal dust or steaming. Also, this way they won’t have to color gumpaste and neither will I. I do wish I had a food dehydrater so they would dry even faster but will just hope for good weather and low humidity. I am showing them 2 different centers, the black ones are easy and fun. Just a small ball of black gumpaste on wire, when dry I painted the ball with gum glue and rolled them in black Poppy seeds. I will make the centers ahead for them so they can use them right away but will also have them make one of each type so they will get the idea of how they are done.
