What did you adhere the spout with? Melted candy melts are the best to use. I noticed your teapot sits directly on the cake, in a class I,took they put the pot on top of a fondant covered styro base, which was to look like part of the pot. Then the dowel was driven, on an angle not straight thru the cake and into the styro base. I think that was your problem, driving the dowel between the two cake boards. Also, what did you use to make the spout? I hope this helps
