Lisa, Your very welcome. PME makes an edible glaze spray that you can use to seal the isomalt to keep it from getting cloudy. I find it is hard to spray the gems though. They move around too much. I am not sure how long they stay shiny on the cake. I have only put then on cake dummies. But I am sure they should last through the event. I have had them on my dummy for 4 months now.
