Q&A: Need thoughts on important guidelines for exhibiting virtually.

Because we have animals, I’ve never been able to attend cake shows, but always wanted to try exhibiting. Since the pandemic, Cake International and a few others have started holding virtual competitions, open to participants world wide. I know it is essential to follow the written rules exactly, but I would love to have pointers on the things that separate an award-winning entry and an also-ran, which are not addressed in the rules. Because I’ve never been able to attend shows, I am not familiar with the things for which the judges are searching. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
