Cake painting #6: Christmas shortcrust pastry gift box

Today I want to show you my project for Christmas: a gift box with cookies made with the shortcrust pastry.
I was looking for a nice gift idea for cookies, and then I found it!
So, after eaten the cookies … you can also eat the box !!! :)

Cocoa shortcrust pastry

As for the recipe, you can use my shortcrust pastry receipes or your own recipe.
I used a variant of it, with water and oil instead of butter and some cocoa:

420 g flour with corn starch at 30%
80g cocoa powder
2 egg yolks
200 g sugar
150 ml oil
100 ml water

In this case, without the butter, instead of following the usual procedure of the shortcrust pastry, I put all the ingredients in the food processor at low speed. As always, I put the dough in the fridge to rest for 2 hours and then I did it in the refrigerator also all the pieces before cooking.

Photographs of the project

I cut the cookies and 6 square pieces for the box, a bit larger than necessary, and then cut with precision after cooking. I used my 2 wood ribbon of 0,5 mm thickness to roll out the dough evenly.

I hope you like it!
