I was asked to produce some cake toppers for a little boy turning 1. She has only sent me this picture
to match the colour but since she didn’t want it flat. I made a 3D version with little details on it.
She was very happy thankful when I sent her the photos of the toppers. Then she and the little boy picked it up and commented that it’s very pretty. All in all I have made 12 cupcake toppers of white & blue circle with letter “s” on it. Then 5 clouds, a 3" number “1”, 4 letter of the boys name and the 4" orange plane.
Now I would like to know anyone of you reading this if I have charge the right price of $45. I was told by a basher that it was too cheap. I charge her based on what I’m prepared to pay. Honestly I didn’t use money to buy the ingredients for the fondant because the ones I used were from previous left overs.
Any feedback.

Very cute! I must say that I shudder whenever I hear the question “how much should I charge?” In my humble opinion, that’s such a personal issue and you just can’t find a ‘right’ answer here in cyberspace! I think it all comes down to whether or not YOU are comfortable with you price you are charging for your artistry! Bottom line…no one else’s opinion really matters (not even a basher!) I struggle with this too because I’m just a hobby cake decorator (and that’s all I ever want to be – I have no aspirations to own a business nor a store-front) and my husband absolutely flips when he hears my prices – he tells me I under-charge for EVERYTHING!! So, if you’re asking, $45 is the perfect price:) Thanks for letting me rant:)
