Last time when I made my first 3-D cookie bouquet, I used sugar cookie for the pot, which sadly broke only after a short period of time standing up. I think it was not sturdy enough to hold the weight of the flower pops on top (I usually under bake my cookies so they stay soft). So this time around I wanted to try ginger bread to see if that will make it sturdier. And it worked! I baked the ginger bread several days ahead of time and allowed it a long time to dry completely before putting anything in it. I also make my pot wider and thicker which in turn made it heavier. This way there is no need to put extra sugar in to balance the weight. The flowers could stand perfectly in the foam and the set stands on its own very nicely. Ginger bread is the way to go for me from now on for any future 3-D projects! Since I didn’t want to mess up I made extra pot and flowers and they ended up to be a perfect gift for my son’s teachers for Teacher’s appreciation week. Hope you enjoy and for every Moms out there: Happy Mother’s Day!!!
