I’ve done one wedding fair, it was my first and last. I saw about 500 people that day it was VERY busy, all my samples went and some people even came back for more, I got tons and tons of good comments about my cakes including how they were nicer than other exhibitors. I paid £300 for the pitch and took zero orders. I had a voucher that said you would get 20% off your cake if ordered on the day with a deposit and 10% off if you ordered 7 days after the fair. I had a raffle too, £1 a ticket to win a 4 tier wedding cake – no one was interested in this they all turned their nose up at spending £1!!! I knew right there and then the area I did it at would not be good for business. I’ve done more wedding cakes NOT doing fairs than I did through the fair. The same company called me this year to say “we’ve got a discounted price last minute” I told them no straight off. Completely different experience to you.
