The skyline was a paper template which was printed off from the internet and customised to fit, I then stuck it to some thinly rolled black gumpaste (which was anchored to my workboard with a very thin smear of vegetable fat) with a touch of white vegetable fat and cut it out with a sharp scalpel/craft knife. I let the cut-outs firm up before applying to the cake so they were easier to handle.
