Almost two years ago I was an average nine to fiver who one day caught a programme on the television called ‘Fabulous Cakes’ by pure accident and had an epiphany about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Six months down the line, I quit my job and start my own cake studio. My friends and family were shocked and surprised, unable to understand why I had to quit the air-conditioned office of a General Manager for hot ovens and sticky batter! :) Today, I am an artist who designs haute couture cakes in my little studio for a highly discerning and rapidly expanding clientele.
For me, each cake needs to be a piece dè resistance; each is a work of passionate art. To respect this, I only use the best quality products, continuously train myself so I can create what a particular cake needs me to create. Each cake in Seema’s Cake Couture has its own personality, it embodies either the giver’s or the recipient’s or both personalities; it has its own role in the interaction of their relationship, the communication of the right message; and it is a meaningful event in both their lives. The challenge inherent in such a USP keeps me on my toes, constantly striving to do better.
