I actually rinse the tube and the tip parts with vodka just to be on the safe side. Then I just add food color in a container and dip the tube in the food color and the material in the tube absorbs the food color instantly (like a sponge). You could add more food color if it doesn’t reach the top. Hope this helps. :)
