Theresa, I ordered the heavy-duty rotating Christmas tree stand from Walmart. Then I had a friend cut a 20" round cake base, to which he added a small wooden block underneath to attach a metal pipe flange. The flange held a 1" pipe, but the pipe was too big to fit in the base, so I bought a reducer to drop down to a 3/4" pipe & it worked perfectly! Very sturdy, too. You just drop the pipe down in the base as if it were the trunk of the tree & tighten the screws to secure it! The base is huge—-24" across, & the cake was elevated about a foot above the table. And God bless your father-in-law! Thank him for his service!
