re: Ninja Turtle/Kiss Fan's 30th

This started with a stainless steel frame that was bent in the shape I wanted. It was strapped to the board using metal straps that were screwed in. After the frame was on the board I just started packing on the Cheerios treats, starting at the bottom and working my way up. The client had requested Cheerios with peanut butter but RKT might be a little better for this. It kept falling off and so I kept having to pack it really tight.

I covered it with fondant, which still looked bumpy so I ended up covering the arms, legs and head with two layers of fondant to make it more smooth. I molded the shell out of an oval bowl and allowed it to dry before gluing it on with Tylose glue.

This was the most frustrating cake I’ve ever done and if you do it don’t charge $100 like I did! There was over $100 worth of stainless steel pipe and fittings on this cake which, luckily, I got for free because my boyfriend’s dad got it from work. It was a total experiment and I honestly didn’t think it would turn out as well as it did. Thanks for all the compliments and if I can answer any other questions please let me know!
