My brother and my nephew’s birthdays are one day apart. Our Thanksgiving usually falls around the same time, it’s a very busy weekend, so I was happy to be able to get cakes done for both of them!

My nephew plays football in the Fall and hockey in the winter. I thought I’d put both of them in a cake.
The football field/hockey rink was made from vanilla cake, filled with strawberry SMBC and iced in a milk chocolate ganache. The football and hockey puck were each make of RKT and covered in fondant. The Stanley Cup and The Grey Cup (our Canadian Football League trophy) were made from fondant/gumpaste.
