I was asked to design a cake that incorporated some of the characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The customer wanted something with height, but did not want the traditional tiered cake. So this is what I came up with. Stacked, open gift boxes with Minnie popping out of the top. The bottom cake is a 10", the purple tier is an 8" and the top and blue tier were shaped from two 1/4 sheet cakes..
