The bride and groom had a vision of a tree actually growing through a traditional wedding cake. The feel was to be vintage and earthy. We designed the 5 tier cake to be a tree trunk, then a 4 tier lace wedding cake on top with branches growing out of it. The base cake was chocolate sponge and covered in chocolate paste to look like a tree trunk. The branches were formed out of molded chocolate with sugar leaves and flowers.
