This was a last minute cake order, so I was pleased with it allowing for the time I had to do it in (2 days!!)
Sarah as you can guess is going to be 40 today (cake collected this morning). Her husband (the carpenter who put in Mum’s kitchen when we had the granny flat made), rang and asked me if there was a chance he could order a cake for his wife’s birthday. I couldn’t turn him down, and it will probably earn him some serious brownie points too. Sarah loves her tennis and looking after her raised vegetable garden.
So with those two ideas in mind, this cake was very quickly designed and produced.
The bits I like best are the little cauliflowers, cabbage, leeks, and carrots.
The watering can and flower pots, along with “Sarah” and the bag are hand moulded.
The lower tier is lemon sponge with lemon and vanilla filling, and the top tier is chocolate fudge.
The tennis ball on the top is a vanilla giant cake pop.
