The four year old I made this cake for knew just what she wanted, Magdelena confidently told her mummy that she wanted butterflies, ladybirds ….. and a duck? on her cake! I enjoyed making this cake and using royal icing to create the floral garden around the cake bases, it’s a medium I don’t use often enough and so easy to work with. The base cake was vanilla, white chocolate ganache & raspberry conserve, the cake sitting atop the same but with a band of pink hearts running through the sponge for a surprise when cutting the cake. I love making cakes for little girls, especially little girls who know exactly what they want!
