This cake was ordered as a lovely gesture by a young lady for her little sister’s shower, aaaaw. She asked that it be special and a cake that would enhance her sister’s memory of the joy & day forever, aaaw. The new baby’s room décor was the inspiration for the design. They were a WONDERFUL family to work with and I enjoyed every minute! The top & bottom tier are vanilla & raspberry swirl cake, with fresh raspberry compote and filled & coated with white chocolate ganache, middle tier was double chocolate with chocolate chunks & filled & coated with chocolate ganache. I was told by several, that it was the best cake they had ever eaten. Music to a caker’s ears!:) All figures and decorations were done in fondant, with a bit of tylose added for strength. The base of the toy box is RKT and covered in fondant. A few of the more fragile items, the monkey’s tail, elephant’s ears, etc. I used 50/50 gumpaste & fondant. Maybe the wrench that got thrown in 24 hours prior to delivery is, I had a bad fall and had to finish the cake with a pretty nasty concussion. But, all ended up well and the cake was a huge hit! Thank you for letting me share and hope you enjoy it as much as the ladies did at the shower:)
