I made this cake for a dear friend of mine who is having a little girl. It’s 3 layers of chocolate cake with Chocolate Truffle Ganache. Managed to use my Designer Stencil. The first stencil is just a cheapie from The Warehouse. And also had a chance to do some Royal Icing piping! …and hand painted roses on the bed sheet… Enjoyed that!
See I don’t own an Airbrush!!! I could have given it a real Vintage feel… but anyway…still happy though…
I was wanting to make this cake for a long time. I followed the idea on how to make it from Shawna from McGreavy Cakes – gorgeous tutorial – but had to work out my own dimensions for the templates. The first lot of headboards and bars did not set hard enough, did not fit and broke!!!!!! I was devastated! So I sat up all night to redo them! I still didn’t get them to line up!!! I’m sort of happy with the way it turned out and it’s no where as beautiful as Shawna’s cake …. but I know what to do for next time!
Thanks for looking!

OMG Gorgeous Mel
Oh Mel, I think it turned out absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The crib has so many lovely details! LOVE all of the hand painted pretty little roses! That must have taken forever! I feel for you with the bars cracking and breaking. It happened to me when I made a crib cake for my daughter’s baby shower cake!
