Cactus

Cactus

This cactus should not be watered or given sunlight. This cactus was made back in the late 90’s and was inspired by one of Colette Peters books. It was butter – yellow cake baked in two Pyrex bowls, since I did not own a ball pan at the time. The planter is an actual plastic tray that was purchased new for this cake. The soil was smashed up cookies and the green icing was buttercream. The flower and cactus needles are all royal icing. The needles were done over a week prior to assembly. This was one of my first specialty cakes and one of the few photographs to survive too many relocation’s, ie., moving from place to place. Thanks for having a look, have a good day! :)
