First attempt at a 3 tiered cake, and quilting and chocolate fondant. I was ok with finished product although I made a few rooky mistakes. Seeing cake was going to be all the same color I thought great I can put it in the refrigerator and yes it was ok however the hundred some dragees di not take well so all the glitter went funky and I had to replace about 75% of them and some left little roll marks of glitter from where they fell trying to get them off. Another rooky mistake is that I tried to dust the ribbon with shimmer while it was on the cake which of course then some got on the cake. Also another lesson learned was do not let someone else carry your cake once you have transported it to venue as the guy picked it up wrong (also due to me not making it on wood and just foam) and he made some of the cake buckle at side…I was so up set and was almost in tears the whole way home.
