I made this cake in about 16 hours start to finish (minus the time I took out to feed and bath my children and put them to bed). Because the ganache didn’t have time to set enough to support the fondant panels I coated the whole cake in melted chocolate and worked quickly to smooth it before it set.
When finished the cake weighed about 8-9 kgs and was massive.
The customer loved it though and so did her little birthday boy, especially since the light on top worked as well.
