This was only the 7th cake I had ever made so I had really no clue about structure or fondant for that matter. I built the frame from pvc and the base is a bord covered in camo paper. The brown mount at the bottom is a camo colored cake painted to look like wood. All the leaves, acorns, and plaque are made or gumpaste and hand painted. The deer is cake up to about mid way in the neck and the rest of the neck and head were molded from RKT. The antlers were made on metal rods covered in gumpaste. The head was made so that you could grab the bottom, lift it back and unscrew the structure to be able to get to the cake easier. The rest of the deer was airbrushed. It is a bit lacking in detail and the fondant is a bit bumpy but since it was onlt the 7th cake I had ever done I thought it came out pretty well.
