This cake is very close to my heart, i made it last may for my engagement party and loved making it. It was definately the most challenging one i had made to date. The silouette in the vase is made from florist paste and matched our invitations. The bottom tier was chocolate and the top tier was a pink vanilla sponge.

How did you balance/support that cake on top of that vase? that is amazing! I’ve never seen anything like this…beautiful!

aww thank you, i just used dowels to support the vase with edible glue to keep it in place at the top and bottom, if i had to re-make it i would put the vase on a small cake board as this wouldnt of been seen as the hearts cover bottom. but i had only been making cakes for 5 months when i made it so didnt really know all the technical stuff :) xxxx
