Hummingbirds say its Spring!! And so do the colors I chose for this one! I LOVED doing this cake, really got me in the mood to get into the garden and plant! Giving my hand a try at roses for the first time, I was pretty pleased!:) And sculpting the hummingbird was a first as well! Getting him to stay on his wire, upright and in position was a bit tricky, but just wrapping the wire with a bit of floral tape, dipping in Tylose glue, then filling the straws I used in both the hummingbird & cake with gumpaste, well stuck him quite well! And needed to, because he had to stay in position for a 3 hour car ride to his lucky birthday girl! OH! And a BIG THANK YOU to Cakes by Bubolinkata for inspiration on the cake part of this one, the hummingbird was my extra, because the birthday girl loves them!:) Thank you for letting me share & hope you enjoy!!
