I made and donated this cake to be raffled at a fundraiser market, in aid of the Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the Sick Children’s Trust. A friend of my daughter has a baby just one year old who has already undergone 9 major operations at the hospital. With aid from the Sick Children’s Trust his parents are provided with accommodation so that they can stay close to him when he is an in patient. These are wonderful charities and I wanted to make a small contribution. The cake is a vanilla Madeira sponge, filled with jam and vanilla buttercream and covered in fondant. The teddy character is a copy of the Sheffield Children’s hospital logo.
