My nephew is obsessed with Titanic and asked me to make a Titanic cake for his birthday.....So here it is.
A semi fondant cake... The base of the ship is covered in dark chocolate ganache. The top is done in fondant and water in whipped cream...the windows are hand-painted with edible gel colour on ganache and fondant. The balcony is joined with royal icing. The ice berg is cake and lifeboats done with fondant. It's decorated with fairly lights to give the realistic look. The cake weighed 5.5 kg.
